| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2006 Bottle rating. Last rated from the variety six pack. Cloudy reddish brown with a creamy/puffy huge head. Excellent lacing. Brown sugar, vanilla, and I detect a hint of honey. Finishes with a cocoa. Chaulky on the palate. The one thing that distinguishes this beer from the others (Brouwerij Van Steenberge) is that it is less carbonated and thus is a little smoother. A slight bit thin in flavor, but pretty decent otherwise. Probably the second best offering in the six pack I had from this brewery. Aurelius (2655), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Musty, dark syrup and fruit aroma. Initially the aroma had some off notes, and didn’t really make me go ’Yum’. Good label, dark brown, lightly hazy beer with a big head. Make that a huge head - tan, persistant. The beer was hypercarbonated at first, and then it blew off steam and settled down. Tangy cooked fruit flavors, woody bitter, a bit on the sweet side, dark sugars. Aftertaste is a clingy tartness, with little traces of cocoa or carob. joergen (8638), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Pours out a deep brown color with a very nice fluffy head. Aroma is not very strong, but what was there told of some fruit and sweet malts. The taste isn’t overlly complex, rather thin, and drinkable for a beer this strong. Taste is of some fruit, brown sugar and some caramel on the finish. Not a bad beer, but it lacked some complexity.
