| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2005 Good looking beer... near opaque, rusty brown body, similar to weak "coffee" as described. Large-bubbled, compact, khaki head. Aromas started as sour fruits with a beefy yeastiness, warming to earthy, chewy, English-malts. Sour start to the flavor with a semi-sweet, malty center and a lingering, sour finish. Well hidden alcohol, although the active carbonation created a dry finish, nonetheless.

A little bit sweet and fruity, ends dry with a bit of lemon. No discernable hops. Dare I say, a little bit too ghosty. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2005 Bottle: poured a dark opaque chestnut brown with ruby highlights. Large tan cap reduces to a 1cm cap that stays...good lacing....good aroma like bananas with treacle and a light musty note. Substantial malts but medium-light , spritzy-slick body.... slight sour twang up front reminiscent of a Flemish sour red... then a flood fruit taste blanketed in burnt brown sugar...wet finish with some sour drying. A very drinkable abby dubbel

Pours a deep, dark red/brown with a merangue like beige head. Aroma is banana bread, raisins, cherries, and carmel. The flavor is apple cider, cherries, and a bit sour. Medium bodied and a bit fizzy but that’ll die down. bu11zeye (5698), Frisco, Texas, USA
