0,33 bottle. Tried to escape from bottle, pours with an enormous head, after a few minutes a brown hazy beer appear, under a thick layer offwhite head. Aroma of sour fruits and yeast, quite strong actually. Sweet fruity flavour with a sour undertone, acid mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea...

dark brown into a tulip glass with think foam. cherries and dark sugar with other dried fruit flavors. yeast and malt are nicely balanced. probably the best ive had from this particular brewery.

Nos yeux observent une bière de couleur rougeâtre avec une mousse fauve imposante qui reste. Au nez on respire des arômes d’épices, de sucre brun, de malt caramel fonçée et de levure. En bouche le corps est moyen avec une effervescence pétillante. On goûte des saveurs de grain caramélisé fonçé, d’épices avec en finale une amertume d’alcool.

In short: A simplistic basic fruity Belgian dark ale. Not much of a Dubbel.
How: Bottle 750ml, age unknown but consumed a bit before best-before date
The look: Almost clear dark amber body with ruby highlights topped by a medium beige head
In long: Shy nose with basic fruity yeasty esters. Body is disappointingly thin for a supposed 8% Dubbel. Taste is simple to the point of being boring. This is just raisins and baked dark fruits. Barely any distant nutty notes. Finish of prune juice. Earthy notes here and there. Very short finish. Not very tasty at all. As the beer warms up it gets more and more fruity with a strong fruit concentrate character that gets a bit annoying. On the plus side, low sweetness level and not alcohol presence but that’s about it. Not a bad beer but for as a Dubbel this is way below average. Van Steenberge Boring Dubbel.

Dark reddish brown color with an off-white head. Aroma of apples, malts, and hops. Malta, apples, lemon-maybe, and some hops hit your palate in a smooth, velvety manner.

Poured a nice dark color with a medium off white head. Aroma was big malt and sweet with some nice fruit tones, maybe a little bit of citrus. Flavor was similar. Kind of a weird mix between dark fruit, cherries and a twist of lemon juice. There was definitely something a little sharp about this one, but not in an unpleasant way.

Pours a dark brown with a huge rocky tan head. Tons of lacing. Aroma of malts and coffee. Flavor is much the same. Something missing in tnis one for me. Little flat. Expected it to be a little more full bodied.

Brown in color with amber highlights and a medium sized tan head. Aroma is of brown sugar, malts, yeast and fruits. Flavor are the same with a heavy yeasty character.
