yngwie (3454), Kristiansand, Norway May 1, 2006 Bottled. Dark, reddish-brown, sparkling beer, with a lasting off-white head. Light caramel, malt and roastiness in the aroma. Candi-sweet flavor with caramel, spices and some roastiness. Light fizzy mouthfeel and alcohol and bitterness in the finish. An ok beer, but a bit too anonymous. (060422)
esox (102), Oulu, Finland Aug 29, 2008 Bottled. Light beige head is large and long lasting. Nice lace formation. Liquid is dark brown to amber. Aroma has quite intese banana, yeast and sweet caramel. Malts are medium roasted, dark and caramelly in the finish. Peppery spiciness and some sour fruitness of fermented fruits. Alcohol is well hidden. Flavor is quite only medium sweet, more like sour to me. Some bitterness in the finish. Palate is carbonated and foaming and a bit thin. Sticky texture in the finish, otherwise slick and quite oily. Simple but quite OK duppel. A bit too carbonated. PaulHegedus (43), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Aug 29, 2008 Bottle, December 2007. Brown with a decent, white head. This has an aroma of caramel and fruit. Slightly sour. I taste raisin, caramel, cherry, alcohol. cbkschubert (1566), Skyline, Arizona, USA Aug 25, 2008 33 cl bottle - Pours a clear deep mahogany color with a large off white. Nice layered lacing. Aroma is yeast, esters, and sugar. Flavor is sweet dark esters and brown sugar. The sweetness lingers a tad, almost cloying. Medium body. A decent beer. blutt59 (657), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 21, 2008 bottle, great dark cola color with big foamy head, nose is sweet cherry, flavor is sweet fruit and caramel, finish is oaky mansquito (610), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours a thick head and has a muddy brown color. When the head goes down it looks like oil on water. Pretty fruity aroma. Fruity and sweet taste. A lot of malts in it. A rather uneventful double, but still a good brew. Thick body.
