Aroma was horrid, I didn’t even get a yeasty smell. Pours a light honey color with good head. A bit more body than the dubel, but still crisp. The finish has more to it as well, somewhat fruity w/ Mild hops. Not quite as refreshing as the other Bornem, attempts to be more complex but fails.

Very strong in taste and in alcohol, it was very blonde, but also a little boring. Good head which lasts forever and I liked the dizzy sensation, lets you sleep very pleasantly indeed.

Hazy golden yellow with a large white head. Aroma of earthy hops, toasted malts and mild fruit. Taste of fruit, apple, pear, sweet malt with a mild alcohol finish though it generally hides the alcohol well. Speaking of which – it seems to hide everything else well too as it’s a bit devoid of flavor and taste. Perhaps that’s why I found it fairly cheap for a Belgian ale.

12 ounce bottle from a mixed 6 pack that was purchased at the Davis Food Co-op. Aroma has an odd, musty, rubbery characteristic. The more this is swirled, the more yeast esters come out in the aroma with a bit of sweetness. Not overly appealing aroma. Mildly hazy golden body with a very large frothy white head. Too large of a head. Overly carbonated start, which becomes corn-like and grainy. Some metallic flavors late with some fusels and dry ethanolic flavors. This is very similar to a macro malt liquor. Not very good at all.

Wonderful thick frothy head on a canary yellow pour with strong carbonation.Aroma salt sea air, coriander, clove, orange and cinnamon.Flavour orange coriander clove figs.A sweet mellow to a triple that is fairly decent. The alcohol volume is well blotted out by good flavour.Fruity flavours give it a good lift. The finish is tangy fruity with a mellow ending.
