A strong gold body is topped by a sizeable white head. This one doesn’t boom like the one on the dubbel did. Instead it pours to a couple of fingers and then when you turn to rinse out the bottle it grows up to fill the glass and more to stand stifly in meringue peaks above the rim. The aroma is slightly weak, there’s a bit of hay maltiness and a vague herbal quality that could almost pass for dried garlic. There’s also a decent amount of esters, but they’re faint compared to the dubbel. The flavor is much drier than the dubbel, but lacks the complex fruitiness of the darker beer. Easy drinking, but a little boring.

Bottle: Pours a yellow body, with a nice sized white head. Aromas of spice, and citrus....possibly pears??, Alcohol is definately present as well as in the taste. Flavors of citrus and bitterness. Fairly smooth for the alcohol content. Was definately enjoyable!

Excellent nightcap. Pours a thick lemon curd colour with a big lingering frothy head. Smells fresh and zesty. Some cookie-like malt and peppery alcohol. It’s full-bodied, with a smooth, fruity middle and a glorious warming finish. Some piney hop notes, too. It’s a big, big ale but a very satisfying nightcap. (Bottle)

Thanks Jadoreblanche! You kick ass! This beer poured a cloudy yellow body, with a creamy white head that stayed for the duration. Nose is full of spices, flowers, and apples. Also a slight alcohol aroma is present. Taste is citrus, apples, with a sort of bitter floral punch. Nice. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Nice lacing left on the glass as well. Reminds me of a good BGSA.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a vibrant white head. Smells strongly (and slightly sourly) of yeast with a hint of hoppy sweetness behind it. At first, it seems like it’s going to be a typical belgian tripple, but it’s a bit more aggressive, leaving an alcoholic nose and bite behind when it’s done.

33 cl bottle. Pale hazy translucent gold, with a medium quick-diminishing head...intriguing buttermint nose develops a sweet spiciness, nutmeg-pepper-alcohol...soft, highly carbonated mouthfeel, fairly boring flavor overall...light lemon-spiciness, ok, quaffable, but the moderate sweetness, moderate sourness leaves me with...dullness.

Bottle. Hazy pale golden color with slim, but lasting white head. Great aroma; perfumy, spicey and fruity. Nice taste; spicy and well balanced. Long hoppy finish. Quite highly carbonated, with a nice full bodied foamy mouthfeel. Very good indeed.

Cloudy soft yellow. Moderate white head drops to a skiff as you watch. Yeasty green apple aroma. Dusty baking soda, yeast and apple flavours.
