Full of the rich flavours of bittersweet chocolate, this complex ale can tempt the pale ale lover while rewarding the dark beer drinker with a complex mix of nuts, caramel, and toffee.

ffrom the tap to the growler to the glass. poured a brown with a small head. aroma when I 1st atrated to pour this the bitter sweey chocolate came right out, when I got done pouring and put the nose to the glass it was gone, did get coffee, some nuttyness and a faint smell of caramel. flavor dry nuttyness some bitterness, and bitter coffee. looks like another 1 I won’t get again.

Tap: I will quote Wohlfs word for word and add that there was a very strange flavor I couldn’t pinpoint.

Tap. Poorly done porter. Lacking in aroma, palate and flavor. Deep brown colored with a nice, long-lived tan head. There just seems to be a void when smelling this. Thin and watery on the palate. Very slight flavors of roasted grain. Give it a miss.

Right up there with the best porters I’ve had, this one is big time roast coffee from the nice warm nose through the slighltly sweet finish. Yum!
