Ungstrup (14753), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 20, 2009 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, wood, and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, roasted malt, and soy sauce, leading to a dry, roasted, woody, and alcoholic finish. Thanks CaptainCougar for coming to Denmark and sharing this. Theis (3617), Denmark Sep 6, 2009 Bottle - ABW: 20%) at Papsø’s - Thanks to CaptainCougar. Black - offwhite head. Oily thick liquid - body and mouthfeeling, sweetness, chocolate, alcoholic, coffee, dried fruits, raisins, light smokey, roasted. Too alcoholic - but very nice. yespr (11644), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 30, 2009 12 fl oz bottle, courtesy of CaptainCougar. Pours dark brown to black with a fully gone head. Aroma is solid alcohol and roasted dark malty. Roasted malt flavoured, dark and solid alcohol note. Dry and solid alcohol burn in the finish. Way too strong for my liking. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 30, 2009 Black with a tiny beige head. Sweet aroma with hard roasted malt, dark chocolate, espresso and liquerice. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, liquerice and loads of alcohol. Finished with loads of warming alcohol. The alcohol releay overpowered the stout here. But not bad. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 30, 2009 Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Opaque black with a tiny, rough off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts and alcohol. Solid body, roasted malts - not overly burned - a little vanilla and a massive alcohol burn. More pure alcohol than Imperial Stout really. 300809 yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA May 24, 2009 This was some crazy stuff. Thanks CC for sharing this awesomeness. Dark and thick rich pour. Aroma is huge, alcohol, caramel, molasses, and dark chocolate. Taste is rich and hot with tons of sweetness. Very odd and big. Definitely a sipper. GodOfThunder (855), Orlando, Florida, USA May 19, 2009 Thanks to Hopscotch for the taste. Thick and oily black. Chocolate malts, cocoa and soy sauce. Pretty average. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Feb 11, 2009 2004 Thanks to Captaincougar for sharing this bottle at Kramers. Pours a thick oily dark opaque black with a thin very dark head. Aroma is old soy sauce- oxidation has set in- salty and a bit meaty with maple syruup=- roasted barley and chooclate malts are faded- reminds a bit of SA triple bock. More salty soy and even a worcestershire sacue hint- sweet all around with alcohol throughout and gets more green and harsh as it warms, hints of acetaldehyde and grassy green hops- but still finsihes on the thick and sweet side.
