Dec 29, 2008 on tap-pours an off white head and copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, some earthy. Taste is sweet medium malt/grainy-caramel, secondary earthy hops. OK effervescence.

Jun 8, 2008 I am not sure if it is fair to rate this one that I had on tap in Little Rock. Incredibly flawed, I could not even finish a sample sized glass. The body was dark brown and red. The aroma was nice enough with iced tea and caramel. The taste was disgustingly, incredibly cloying sweet tea. Nasty old caramel and buttery notes were also in this one. Alsolutely atrocious with some hints of stale smoke. It tasted like they either boiled way too long or forgot to add yeast. Yum, raw wort!

Feb 15, 2008 Sweet, very fruity baked tart aroma. Dark, but clear, brown. Excellent mouthfeel, a bit chalky somehow. Medium-heavy body. Well-bittered. Not as sweet as it smells. Tangy at times, a little roast, a good balance. Finish is peaty.

Dec 19, 2006 Updated: Dec 23, 2006Draft at nashville. Pours dark amber with a wisp of a head. Not much aroma, perhaps a wiff of dark caramel. Very malty flavor of caramel, medium roast, and perhaps some very faint peat. Clean and mild pepper finish. Not bad, but I would love to see this one with a different yeast strain

Jan 10, 2005 Nashville. No aroma. Dark amber in color with excellent lace. Flavor is ESB-like. I really like this. Caramel notes and fairly high alcohol profile.

Jan 25, 2009 On tap at the Nashville location. Poured a clear dark amber with red highlights, and a one finger tan head. The aroma was pretty much all malt. Caramel and toffee and a little bit of toast. The flavor was grainy with some caramel and an earthy finish. This was a pretty decent beer. The mouthfeel was a little thick and sticky, but the carbonation and body were spot on.

Dec 21, 2007 (Tap) Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma of caramel and biscuit. Taste includes dark malts and grainy notes. Roasted nut and toffee in here as well. Above average palate and average carbonation. Light hop finish. A very good beer!
