Pours caramel with ruby hues and a thin rocky off-white head; some spotty lacing. Fruit hops abound in the bouquet of aromas with a caramel malt nose. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Brilliant copper orange, decent white head. Fairly hoppy aroma, with earthy, piney notes dominating. Very subtle malt presence - toffee, maybe? - and a clean, peppery finish. Enjoyable. Draft at the Nashville location. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 9, 2005 Woody brown, my sample was very cloudy while my associate’s came out a bit clearer. Doughy, a bit phenolic, diacetyl, moderately candied and sweet. Hop profile was not what I expected -- they could be a little bold at times, but usually came off as unrepresented. Drinkable, but not their best work. Kinz (2207), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2005 From brewpub sampler. Medium orange amber, good head. Undefined hop aroma. Light caramel body, good bop bitterness with elements of pine and earth on the finish. Not bad, rather enjoyable. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Deep clear copper with an average sized white head.
Well balanced sweet malt/hop aroma.
Nicely hopped dryness that comes in at start and stays to the finish with just enough support from the malt to make this intersting.
Solid APA. But the one I had was hopped to 62 IBU and the recipe change seems to have improved this one greatly as I look at the reviews from previous batches. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2007 A light amber pour with a tan head and guey lacing. A light hoppy aroma with an apple aroma kicker. Flavor of rich sweet malt with a very good hop profile for a pale ale. Palate is solid all the way across. Good example of the style. Nice all round. shp555 (1687), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
