Commercial Description:
During the 1800's, when the sun never set on the British Empire, beer being shipped to the Far East always arrived spoiled. To correct the situation, British brewers added large quantities of hops to their pale ales. (Hops act as a natural preservative in beer). The result is an intensely hoppy amber beer. I'm not going to rant and rave that IPA's should have more hope taste to them. If these guys ahve ever tasted another IPA, they know they have to come harder than this to make this beer stand up. Average at best.

Pours a light amber gold color with a medium head and thin lacing. The aroma is nice and hoppy. The flavor is citrusy, crisp and of course hoppy! Probably my favorite Boscos brew.

(Little Rock) Deep amber. Pine hops but very well balanced. Not exceedingly hoppy, but the hoppiest beer on the LR menu.

Nice amber with a good head. Great fresh hop aroma with a nice balance of pine tar and grapefruit rind. My guess is that the beer is heavily dry hopped because flavor lacks aroma's promise. It still has a nice bitter finish. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. CASK VERSION: I had this as the same festival (Southern Brewer's Festival in Chattanooga, TN). The aroma was similar but stronger and tilted more to the grapefruit rind. The hops also came through more in the flavor with a strong tongue-tingling hop bitterness from start to finish. Definitely a better beer on cask.

An average IPA with all the average IPA qualities. Appearance was amber with little head. Floral and citrus aroma. Very mild hop kick with orange and lemon flavor.

Cask Conditioned version - on tap at Boscos Nashville. Amber hue with a creamy off-white head. Excellent lacing that really clings to the glass. Heavy hoppy aroma with hints of herbs, pine, and grapefruit. Also detected a slight grainy and bready malt presence. Good balance on the palate, bitter hoppy finish, but not extreme. Dry and lively mouthfeel. A very good American IPA. Seek out when in Tennessee.

From a sampler: Pours a goldish orange color with a medium off-white head and thin lacing. Well-hopped aroma. Nice and tart with a medium body, with a full hops flavor from start to finish. The finish is crisp and clean. Nicely done.
