This beer has a frothy, light tan colored head and the color is mostly clear with a gold color. The aroma smells of thin, washed out grain and a wan hop note. The aroma is grainy, with some faint herbal notes, some corn-leaning DMS as well as a fruity, pale berry note with a touch of green apple.
The beer is quite light bodied and it has a bad grainy, almost corn-like finish to it. The hop character contributes a light herbal note as well as a touch of bitterness to the finish. The hops actual seem a bit green and astringent in the finish, despite being fairly muted. This beer leaves me wondering what the stone reference is to? One would expect a more pronounced caramelized grain character if it was actually heated rocks were added to this brew. I was definitely hoping for more character than this. Aroma is slightly of honey. Taste is a fruity lager with tett (fruity pebbles) hops, cereal, corn and syrup. Watery mouthfeel. Butters (1652), Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Clear light amber pour with minimal light white head. Weak fruity, somewhat earthy aroma. The tett hop profile is NOT balanced by the hint of caramel malt that I pick up in the flavor. The waiter said this was the most popular brew they sell, but personally, I didn’t see the attraction.
