Brewed using a traditional German technique, stones heated in our wood fired ovens are lowered into the beer during the brewing process, giving the beer its unique caramel character.

Nashville. Very very good!!! Looke liks bud but it tastes like a Brach’s caramel candy. You have to wait for it, but when you think it’s all said and done, POW! the Caramel flavor hits you.

On tap in Nashville. Clear yellow color that made me think "I’m not going to like this." The initial flavor was ok, but nothing too special...until about 20 seconds after I swallowed it there was a huge caramel blast. Neat!

Sweet, buttery caramel aroma which I liked a lot. Bready, lightly sweet, crackery. Flat, thin palate, mild hop finish. Malt sourness on the backend. Intense gold.

Draft at Nashville location: Golden yellow color with a small white head that diminished quickly. Light smells of hops. Flavor had a light wood taste, with wheat and earthy hints. Light body and somewhat watery.

Draft sample at the Southern Brewers Festival (9/05). The guys pouring this brew were very animated. Pretty funny really. Poured an amber brown with no head. The aroma was dominated by malt, caramel, minerals, and a light citrus hop presence. Heavy malt caramel flavor with a moderately bitter pine hop finish. Medium body, dryish finish. Interesting. Don’t know that I’d drink a lot of this, but interesting.

This was an interesting one. Light gold body with a small ring of lace. Aroma is woody and doughy. Flavor is mostly caramel and more dough, lots of fresh baked bread. This was the dominant characteristic. Weird but fairly tasty.

From the brewpub sampler. Light yellow, fizzy looking. Little aroma. Smooth light caramel flavor, faintly floral hops. Not bad. Hair of a bite in the finish.
