Commercial Description:
Alt means old in German. Altbiers are traditional ales that were widely brewed in Germany before lager beers became that country's landmark. Copper in color with a nice malty body. (O.G. - 1.056 IBUs-23)

Rocky, frothy off-white head covers a hazy copper body. Caramel is the first noticeable aroma for me, but it is quickly accompanied by fresh cereals, bready earthiness and leafy herbs. Palate is rather thin, flavours pretty short and the texture watery and airy, so combined with the hard to smell aroma, it is still a feather weight.

Draft at Nashville location: Dark amber in color with an off-white head that lasted and left some lacing. Malty chocolate smells. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, wood, and a hint of hops. Light to medium body but slightly watery.

Deep caramel body. Caramely maltiness, doughy, sweet. Kinda bland and one-dimensional.

From brewpub sampler. Attractive copper color, good head. Faint hop aroma. Smooth caramel, lightly bitter flora hop finish. Not bad. Light bodied.

On tap, 16 oz. Shaker glass, Nashville Brewpub. Bread, grass and skunk in the nose. Brown amber in the glass with an off-white eggshell head. Great sticky lacing with nice sub-surface racing. Great beer to look at. Flavor: grainy with prickly acidity at first; mealy finish with Munich malt (maybe?). Somewhat caramelly, becomes chewier through the finish. Good soft level of carbonation, nice malty and natural sweetness, medium bodied. Very enjoyable.

Pours light nut brown with a foamy white head. Caramel malt aroma with yeast nose. Good and thin lacing film. Caramel lightly roasted malt flavor that ends with yeast. Medium-bodied palate, smooth.

Nashville. Faint aroma. Dark amber in color. Roasted malt flavor. Nice and well balanced. Not bad at all.
