Commercial Description:
Alt means old in German. Altbiers are traditional ales that were widely brewed in Germany before lager beers became that country's landmark. Copper in color with a nice malty body. (O.G. - 1.056 IBUs-23)

-Aroma: Nutty nose -Appearance: Nice tawny color -Flavor: An interesting contrast of bitterness and sweetness, which makes this beer a simple yet elegnat brew -Palate: Slightly harsh on the palate on the first sip but settles down rather quickly -Overall Impression: The thing I really enjoyed about Boscos’ line-up is that they’re not hesitant to try style that you don’t typically find in brew-pubs. Even better, they do a great job with them.

Darker copper with a decent white head. The aroma is nicely malty. There is lots of sweet caramel in both the flavor and aroma and a bit of lemon zest underneath it all. Very soft on the palate. Not at all complex, but easy to drink and not too bland. I like it overall.

Clear caramel color, chocolately sweet aroma. Very sweet up front, with maybe some ginger flavors, as well. Crisp clean finish.

Another one of Boscos nice beers. This beer is a deep mahogany color with a mostly lasting off white head. Aroma is sl. malty followed up with a nicely balanced flavor. My main negative is that like many bosco brews it is a little thin for me.

Pours a deep amber red with a medium off-white head and thin lacing. Aroma and flavor are malty with sweet caramel tones and good hops.

(Little Rock) Dark copper color. Malt aromas. Slightly sweet malt up front with just a hint of herbal hops at the finish. Excellent.

On tap in Nashville - Dark amber, little head, thin-bodied. Snappy hop/malt aroma. Taste is similiar with the hop presence lingering on the palate. A refreshing beer, a hard style to find in the USA.

From a sampler: While nothing could ever compete with my favorite Akron/Macon Ale, this is still a good Alt. Pours a dark amber with a medium thin off-white head and thin lacing. Rich malty aroma. Medium bodied with smooth character, with well-rounded malt and hops. Sweet malty finish. I liked it.
