Commercial Description:
In German, “hefe” means yeast, “weizen” means wheat. This unfiltered German-style wheat beer is light bodied but full flavored. The strain of yeast used to ferment the beer adds unique flavors perceived as fruity (citrus or banana), cloves, and even bubble gum. O.G. 1046 I.B.U. 10

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of clear colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a hazy uncarbonated yellow colored body. The mild aroma was bready and dough. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a biting hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of malt banana wheat and honey. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Draught in Nashville at Boscos. Pours cloudy yellow with a white film and edgy head. Yeast and wheat, banana and clove aroma with citrus hop nose. Sour, sweaty yeast (leather) and light malt (grain) flavor with a lightly acidic citrus hop finish. Light bodied and fizzy.

Draft at Nashville location. Small white head that mostly diminished, cloudy body, visible carbonation, no lacing, and a pale yellow hue. The aroma was sweet, bananas and citrus. Ditto for the flavor and thin tasting. The mouthfeel was smooth and this is a light bodied German Hefe. Easy to drink, but it lacked a lot of the characteristics that one comes to expect with this beer style. This one is easy to forget for me.

On tap at the Little Rock location. smells like a banana split. like drinking a banana with cloves stuck in it. ridiculously hefe-like. almost cartoon-like in its hefeness. some lacing. hefe people would love this. Of the group, my guess is this is the one beer at Boscos that is most outstanding in its beer category. It is gutsy, in my opinion, to have your lone wheat beer be this one in a world of popsicle flavor wheat beers. This is a loud, bold, hefe.

On tap Nashville. A hazed golden pour. An aroma of corriander and bannana. A crisp flavor of the corriander comes out first then fades to the fruit and finishes with a very light bitter. Another decently carbonated beer with a solid palate all round but just a tad(wee tad) on the light side. Very good for the style no real flaws. I might should have rated it a tad higher. Maybe next time.

Draft at Nashville brewpub. Pours a hazy golden orange, no head. Faint hefe ester aroma, but rather tame for the style. The wheat malt and banana flavors are there, but the texture is too thin for my tastes. The finish is like watered down citrus fruit juice. Very drinkable and refreshing, but not outstanding.

Whitish yellow with a white head. Aroma is oranges and bubblegum. Taste is a big spiciness, bubblegum, citrus.
