Pours with a brilliantly clear, burnt amber color that is topped by a frothy, initially two-finger thick, tan colored head. The aroma is quite malt focused with notes of caramelized bread crust a touch of apple cider and some toasted grain notes.

The beer is quite sweet with a lingering saccharine note. Fairly light for a bock, but it still has a light heft to it. The sweetness really gets in the way of the other flavors, and the sweetness almost reminds me of sweet cider or even raisins, maybe even something like cloves. Touches of smokiness & even some toasted malt flavors are sometimes noticeable underneath the surface. There is something about this beer that reminds me of cola, or perhaps Dr. Pepper. Not a bad beer, it is just way too sweet, though not so much that it is not drinkable.

(Bottle) Pours a brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, cocoa, and maple syrup. Flavor of toasted malt, caramel, and dark fruit with a Dr. Pepper-like aftertaste.

Bottle: Deep caramel, ruby hues, moderate foamy sand colored head, sparce lacing.   Sweet figgish nose, raisins galore.   Biscuity start, soft dark pitted fruit, raisins.   Moderate body, somewhat smooth, clean backside.   Slight touch of soy on the finish.   Lingering suggary biscuity malt.   Not half bad, but not as hefty as I would have thought.

Bottle, from Jimbo, I believe. Big, sweet, malty bock. Im not a huge fan of this style, but this is pretty good. Surprisingly good. The mouthfeel is a little thin, otherwise this would be extremely awesome. As it is now, its only mildly awesome. But, it doesn’t suck.

Bottle. A bit of a gusher. Pours a clear dark reddish amber with a fading yellow head. Aroma of caramel, wheat, rye? Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet taste of caramel, nuts, raisins, rye, licorice. Molasses and licorice finish. A very malt-centric beer. Is there a dash of anise or something similar in here?

Very strong sweet bock with a big toasty flavor. Lots of toffee notes in the malt with a rich caramelized flavor. I wish it had a bit more bitterness at times to help out, the sweetness felt cloying. Pours dark woody amber with a thin cream colored head.

Very dark, but clear, deep ruby-purple with little head to speak of. Aromas of dark malts - toffee and raisins and brown sugar. Pretty heavy in the mouth, full bodied, chewy and very sweet. A tad mineraly at times. Any bitterness was well masked by the sweetness, but the beer was pleasant to drink - not cloying.

Off white head, over a dark amber hue. Nice nutty-malty nose. Slight raisiny charater on the palate as sweetness stirs. A firm maltiness is ushered out to crispness as a slight hop fade and fastidious carbonation hold the door. Quite enjoyable.
