Very sweet caramel malty flavour, some notes of liqourice. Not sure what to think of this, it’s like something went wrong in the brewing process. leaparsons (4740), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 26, 2006 500ml bottle picked up at the foreign beer bar, St. Albans Beer Festival ’06. Shared with Finn. Very nice appearance: Dark rusty coloured body under a dark yellow foamy head. Aroma is also inviting with its sweet malty spiciness. Flavour starts with notes of cherry sweetness, but turns out to be too candy sweet after a few sips (27.09.2006). Nugget (30), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 22, 2006 Pours a dark amber/dark brown. The appearance changes drastically depending on the lighting + amount in glass. Smells sweet and cerealy, like Golden Pheasant N/A. Carmel and toffee notes. Smells better than it tastes. In small sips it tastes kind of roasty and refreshing but in large gulps reminds me of Eclipse coffee syrup. Not revolting but I wouldn’t drink another by choice. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 20, 2006 Courtesy of Kenb. Sweet breads and caramel with mild stewed raisin notes and molasses. Body is a dark amber that goes full brown in dark light. The tan head is very creamy, fluffy and fairly lasting. Molasses, brown sugar, raisins, rum raisin, dark breads and sweet breads, mild chocolate notes sugar sweetened blueberries and hints of other dark fruits. Very sweet and malty, but I rather like the flavor and would definitely keep this around for occasional drinking.
