It’s dark, red mahogany and the head is small and creamy. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, syrup, caramel and candy sugar. The sweet flavor has notes of syrup, roasted malt, caramel, nuts and candy sugar. It’s quite nice.

Brown color. Strong licorice aroma. Licorice and chocolate in the sweet flavor. Not 100% malty. I can taste sugar and apple syrup. Perfumed, but I drank this beer with pleasure.

Bottle sampled on 3/26/07: Pours a transparent copper mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Sweet, doughy, bready malty aroma has a touch of toasty notes. Body starts bready and dark caramely malty sweet but one dimensional and almost too doughy.
