Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 20, 2006 A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has strong notes of chocolate, medium notes of smoke, and light notes of alcohol and roasted malt, the latter giving it a slight acidity. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, giving it a bit of acidity, but also quite strong notes of alcohol, that burns slightly in the throat, but it also has light notes of smoke and tar, leading to an end with a grapefruity hop note. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 9, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Pours black and opaque with a small, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and vanilla. Medium body with notes of distinctly burned malt. Bitter finish from the burned malt. 061006 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 22, 2006 Dark brown colour. Thick, chocolate aroma with roast beef. Chewy, sweet character. Big and dense, with rich malts, subtle roastiness, and moderate bitterness. I guess you can’t call it special since most impy’s are pretty good but it’s definitely worth drinking twice. joergen (6257), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 8, 2006 Bottle.
