(750ml bottle, 2002 vintage) Small white head atop a hazy golden body. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, herb, apricot, orange. Taste is medium sweet, herbal, bread, some yeast, fruitiness. Alcohol dryness in the finish. Medium body. Remarkably uninteresting.

11.2oz bottle. 2004 vintage. Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized lightly off white head. Lots of suspended floaters. Aromas of yeast, apples, bananas, and spices. Tastes of apples (tart and then lightly sweet), all around fruity, light spices and light yeast. Alcohol well hidden.

Rather clear light golden-amber. Nice stocky head, sticking to the glass nicely. Unadequate nose containing medium DMS that really detracts from the other flavors bringing those pea, vegetal and corn components into an otherwise pleasant yesty and lightly alcoholic cereal ground. The vegetal aspect dominates the palate unfortunately, bringing a taste of cauliflower. Creamy texture, highly carbonated, medium body. Too bad.

2004 bottle bought at Sam’s in Chicago: Pours a lightly cloudy golden with a huge puffy white head. Musty aroma of sweet malts and spicy Belgian yeast. Body starts with a candi-sugar sweetness and sweet Belgian malt. Finishes semi-dry and with a touch of yeasty spice. Could use a little more balance, something I think will come with aging.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Murky amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The yeasty, fruity nose is all about bread (sourdough), honey and clementine. Sweet, breadsy, peppery flavor. Bittered to the point of decent balance. Light pungency. Medium-bodied and watery with lively carbonation. The finish isn’t extremely bitter, but it IS tongue-numbing in an analgesic way. Kudos to vyvvy for shipping this gem my way!

The Lure:
Imperial DMS reigns supreme over a sadly promising lemony, citrusy zestiness and an apt cereal base. Corn cobs cannot entice me to take many sips of this.

The Festivities:
A little alcohol emboldens the citrus fruit and sweet malt potential, but that virus called DMS afflicts all of them.

Transcendence:
I don’t feel like having veggies with dinner tonight.
