Cloudy rediish brown with a small head and minimal lacing. All of the aromas were pretty light of grapes, caramel and brown sugar. Taste has some spicy pepper and sweet caramels. Nice drinking though.

Wow this was a good one. A sharp alcohol aroma with some caramel going on. The alcohol really hits you on the first sip. The beer isnt too sweet. Its well balanced but maybe a bit thin. In the mold of some the abt/quads Ive had but maybe not quite to that level. Overall a good one!

Bottle: Hazed brown hue with some floaties topped by a nice frothy off-hwite head and good lace. The aroma has notes of ripened fruits (plum, apple, currant), earthy and cheesy yeast esters, toasted malting, non-aromatic pipe tobacco, and moderate phenols. The taste starts with malty (Special B seem present) overtone and fruity sweet nature. Moderate twang and sublime bitters shine through. Soem peppery hints as well. Alcohol is noticeable but not overpowering. The feel is lively and quite dry upon the finish. A good beer and worthy of a try.

Muddy amber-brown colour. Holds a half-inch layer of head. Aroma is fruity (peach, pear, plum), sweaty, dusty and alcoholic. Strong flavour is foremost yeasty (dusty, sweaty again) with some phenols retronasal. By-the-numbers example, but does nothing wrong. Alcohol lends dryness to the slightly plummy, otherwise honeyed malty finish.

Very typical Belgian aroma, light caramel and toffee, bready yeast, apples and plums. Fairly clear ruby brown color, big frothy head. Sweet flavor, lots of toffee, biscuit malt, light fruits. Medium body, alcohol is well hidden. A classic Belgian ale - sweet, fruity, and yeasty, with an easy-drinking medium body.

2004 bottling. Murky red-brown body with plenty of yeast sediment, puffy cream head with brown specks. Plummy aroma with cinnamon, caramel, and bread notes. Flavor was a bit harsh, very yeasty/estery, with a heavy emphasis on plum and other dark fruits in addition to hints of cinnamon and pear. Quite bready and caramely. Alcohol was kept relatively in check. Bitter and a bit unbalanced despite its complexity, and should probably age for another year or two.
