Commercial Description:
Introducing Cold Hop British-style ale, a unique ale with a rich golden hue, and the 7th release in our Looking Glass Series of specialty beers. Cold Hop's pleasantly fruity, floral hop aroma and earthy flavor perfectly balance the mild sweetness of the English grains, resulting in a refreshing yet high-gravity British-Style ale.

Bottle. Poured a hazy orange with an off-white head that left light lacing. Aroma of caramel, molasses, butter, and a light hop background. The flavor finds caramel with a light nut and chocolate and a hoppy background. Medium body and medium bitterness. Not bad!

Bottle from the other Steve who likes cornholing. Pours out an orange color with a white head on it. Smell is fruity with some nice light hoppy smells, some citrus, some grass, and a nice sweetness. Interesting smell. Taste is smooth and dominated by malts without much of the hop presence noted. Smooth and drinkable, a pretty interesting beer here. I wasnt expecting this one.

12 oz bottle. Clear gold with a nice, tight white head. Lots of pine and earth in the nose, with white grapefruit and caramel. Mild caramel spine is fleshed out with piney woodiness and dry grapefruit and nectarine. Clean finish, very drinkable.

pours a nice orangish-copper colour with a tight medium off white head. Aroma is delicious caramel maltiness and a floral hop. Flavour is a little lighter than expected. Nice medium malt body. I thought it was going to taste hoppier but the body is firm yet smooth maltiness with a very clean finish. Super smooth and drinkable. A very nice strong ale.

First good beer at the Oxidationfest Tasting at illinsmitty’s, thanks BeerHawk! Golden amber pour with ring of off-white head. Deceptively malty aroma, sweet, raisins, figs, some plum. However, the flavor leans heavily toward the hoppy, somewhat floral. Nicely balanced with a hop finish. Medium body and medium low carb.

Bottle from Beer_Hawk. Pours orange amber with an off white head. Lighter side of medium bodied. Citrusy and pale malt nose. Toffee malt and citrusy flavors, with a moderate bitterness and slight acidity. Nicely attenuated.

12 oz bottle from a 6-pack from Binny’s (South Loop, Chicago, IL). Pours an interesting fiery orangish hue with a substantial offwhite head that dissipates pretty quickly to a small film. Aromas are floral hoppiness, pink gumball-like candy (Or Bazooka Joe!), and a touch of citrus zest. Initial taste is similar, floral hoppy taste with a very sweet balancing, almost candy like. This beer tastes strikingly similar to Gumballhead in profile (Minus the wheat), but more powerful and maybe a tad cloying. Finishes a bit watery and is a fairly light to light medium bodied brew overall, but clean and without too much of a messy sweetness like one might expect. I actually liked this brew. Cheers!

A brown ale that almost tastes a bit dusty. Sweet grains and floral hop. The Looking Glass Series are generally superb.
