Commercial Description:
Introducing Cold Hop British-style ale, a unique ale with a rich golden hue, and the 7th release in our Looking Glass Series of specialty beers. Cold Hop's pleasantly fruity, floral hop aroma and earthy flavor perfectly balance the mild sweetness of the English grains, resulting in a refreshing yet high-gravity British-Style ale.

This has the sweet aroma described. The flavor reminds me of British Style IPAs, just as described being a British-style ale. There is a subtle sweetness from the hops as well.

I was really looking forward to sampling this beer on draft, but I was unfortuntely a little disappointed upon tasting it. It poured a dark golden color with a generous amout of lacing left around the glass. The aroma wasn’t much to write home about, with an average amount of hops, earth and caramel malt. The body was light and quasi-bland. There really wasn’t much in the body to speak of. The flavors were pretty much bland and uninteresting. The finish featured a bit of spicy hoppiness, but not much else. The Cold Hop was definitely a disappointment.

Light coppery color with a beige head that leaves lacing. Really nice citrus smell. Taste is full of citrus and hops. Medium bodied. Tastes like an IPA more or less. Pretty good, but nothing that is really unique.

Bottle Pours a clear golden with a white head. The head has average staying power. The lacing is okay. Has a citrus aroma. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is very dry. Has a decent amout of hops but is muted. Has medium body. The texture is watery. The finish is okay. This is an okay beer. Lacks the punch I hpoed for, but not bad.

copper in color with a one inch white sand head. bright tropical fruit aroma. grapefruit mango and lemon all present as a result of the dry hopping. faint caramel malt is also noted. fresh hoppy start is bright and flavorful. then it fades to a sweet grainy middle. it concludes with a lightly floral and somewhat spruce/pine finish. fairly evenly divided between hops and malt. more dry hop on the finish. could have used a little more umph on the finish.

Bottle from Total Wine in Roseville, CA. This one may have sat in the fridge to long. The hops were a bit muted. Citurs hops dominated this beer with just a little bit of a malt finish.
