Beer is nearly opaque dark brown with a tiny, frothy, light brown, totally diminishing head.
The aroma is malty with a moderate note of roasted grain, light notes of toasted bread crust, toasted nuts; Hoppy with a light herbal note, trace of resin/pine, citrus zest. A little 1-D.
The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, light/moderate bitter with a long, moderately bitter, lightly acidic, lightly sweet finish. Smokey retros.
The body is medium, the texture is watery/velvety and the carbonation is lively.

This beer pours very dark with a thick, creamy head. It is nearly impossible to see through in a glass. It smells of sweet malt and the taste is much the same. It has a lot of good malty flavor with a little roasty chocolate and coffee flavor around the edges. The main complaint I have about this beer is that it left my mouth feeling very pasty.

Draught at Falling Rock. Head is fully diminishing. Body is black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, coffee, husks). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Simple, husky aroma and a sourish flavor profile. Not very enjoyable.

On tap @ Falling Rock poured a translucent brownish black with a minimal amber head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla and light roastiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roastiness, light vanilla and light coffee with a smooth lingering bitter finish.
