Fresh fruity aromas, malty, nutty, caramel flavors. Medium bodied with a full and creamy mouthfeel, finishes clean. A very nice amber, very drinkable, I wish I had bought another bottle.

Third in a series of Boulder Beers that seriously disappointed me...
Appearance: clear, bright bronze color, under a perfunctory film of off-white foam.
Aroma: faint, but sweet and fruity, actually comes right up to the typical amber ale smell, soft, subtle, malt showing more than hops.
Taste: bright flavor, with no bite, no snap (though, I realize that it may be the brewer’s intention). Body is light, maybe creeping into medium, very little texture. Flavor is ample up front, malty, tasty, but then just fades away, leaving only a glimmer of a finish.
An easy beverage to consume, but not, to this ale aficianado, to enjoy. Honest, I’d love to like it, but it’s a faint shadow of a beer, with the taste all up front, and swiftly disappearing, no finish, no substance, no texture.
With this ambiguous sobriquet of "autumn ale", it feels as if they’re trying to twist an amber ale into an Oktoberfest, but to me, they came up short in the attempt.
Actually, it’s much better, than the Pass Time Pale ale, and the Sundance Amber, but I really wanted much, much better. Next time, next time....

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2004 Nice amber color, small white head that faded quickly leaving just a thin lasyer of lace behind. The aroma was malty with a little caramel and a hint of hops.Nice malty flavor upfront with some caramel and hops coming through nicely with a nice light bite in the middle and end.The finish has a nice hop bite with a mild malt hop after taste.Very nice brew that is decent enough for the fall season. waveman352 (178), Walden, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2004 A very good fall beer with a fairly small head and hoppy smell. Although it smells very hoppy it finishes smooth and pours a dark brown finish. unclebleen (620), California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 19, 2004 Pours an amber color with a small but thick off-white head with little lacing. Aroma is full of hops and quite pleasant. The flavor was also nicely hopped and the malt was nicely balanced. A good amber ale that went well with the spicey food. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 28, 2004 I was sort of ambivalent about this. There is a richness in its copper color and a pleasing dry, German hoppiness in the aroma, and heck, as long as I'm praising it, the flavor wasn't bad at first. But the finish was dry and grassy in a curious kind of bitterness. First sips seemed overcarbonated and not as full bodied as I'd like, though it mellowed. While I've come to like these Oktoberfest-style beers, they seem to expose their faults very easily.
