| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Aroma of hops, malts, grassy and earthy (almost like a pale lager or pilsner, WTF??). It’s hazy for a pale ale, but not that much overall. Amber color. The flavor is sweet, caramel, floral hops, actually better than the aroma would imply. The finish is more sweet than bitter, but after a few seconds, the bitter floral hops emerge, and linger. Actually a nice finish for the beer. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Oct 20, 2009 I must have been drinking a different beer than the rest of you. I immediately felt that the beer falsely advertised. I encountered just about zero hop presence. At first, I thought, oh, perhaps this is an old bottle. But when really hoppy beers get old, the hops flavor gets stale, but it does not disappear. So then I thought to consider this beer on its own merits--rather than what the label described. I found it having a dirty malty taste, which can actually be good (think of better English ales). But here, it was dirty without any sort of interesting flavor behind it. It was just dirty and thin. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Taste and aroma of citrus hops and bread-like yeast. A bit thin and over carbonated, but not bad really. Making a pale ale that stands out isn’t easy. This is certainly a drinkable beer. yobdoog (1460), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

The smell is hoppy, fruity, and some citrus. The taste is chewy, hoppy, and balanced with some malt. Some fruity notes in the taste, mostly citrus. I thought this was pretty good stuff and I like the low ABV. I may have to start buying this in sixers.

Have been drinking this sixtel for two weeks now so might as well jot a few notes. Dark amber, hazed, with lofty beige head of medium-fine bubbles that lingers and sheets on the glass. Aroma is grassy, earthy, and with mild pine forest notes. Medium light body, nice for a session beer, without any notes of alcohol or residual sweetness. It is good, clean, quaffable. Yeasty, earthy, and light resin and pith flavors. Quick bitter snap to finish then lingering bready notes. This was kind of a guess since I had only had it once before buying it a couple weeks ago, but for just 65 beans or so for a fresh keg of something hoppy and sessionable it turns out it was worth the risk.
