Good for session drinking, but it is interesting enough to stand alone. Probably my favorite beer from Boulder Beer Company. patrickfannon (342), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2009 Draft at Rock Bottom at MSP International. Pretty decent pale ale with a moderate hop burden which actually is quite well balanced. Standard malt profile which unfortunately has a bit too much sweetness to it. Okay ale (though the price in the airport is rude ($ 8)). KyotoLefty (1420), Kyoto, Japan
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Draught at Murphy’s Law. Floral, citrus hops-really fragrant with lots of citrus and rich caramel. Good, bold malt with chocolate and caramel--malt profile almost like a brown ale, but hopped like a pa. Very interesting hop-malt balance. I like it.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Fabulously well blended aroma of toffee, pine, and cedar, moderately strong. Clear dark golden pour with a thick pale yellow head, fair retention, good lacing. Stinging mouthfeel, very distracting. Metallic and generic bitter flavor. Copper finish. The aromatic hops are wonderful but set the bar too high. marcus (1868), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2009 This copper ale poured with a generous beige head and a toffee and pine aroma. There is a substantial caramel malt base with a spruce finish. It’s slightly watery, otherwise a pretty good beer. williamherbert (466), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Updated: Aug 30, 2009Bitter woody and flowery hop aromas. Bitter, roasted malts; very pungent, almost to a harsh degree. Just this side of Imperial. Strong but balanced.
Pours a clear pumpkin orange. Lots of bubbles. Thick creamy head. Looks impressive.
The flavor is a very bitter, herbal and woody hop. Malts are nicely roasted with a molassess sweetness at the end. Well-balanced but rather intense.
Creamy and thick fee; rough around the edges. A bitter beer on a couple different fronts. Hoppy and quite solid. milewide (611), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
