| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2007 Looks great, a dark reddish amber, crystal clear, with a slender tan head that lasts none too long. The aroma has a sharp caramel, a drop of molasses, alcohol, tart fruits, and bitter nuts. Smooth. The flavor isn’t complex, but it’s fairly satisfying... especially since I’ve been "playing" outside in our frigid temperatures too long today. Caramel, a citric tang, molasses, and a floral bitterness make up the flavor - nicely blended. It finishes on a bittersweet, sticky note with a low alcohol burn. Not bad at all.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2007 Bottle with wax over bottlecap. 2006 vintage. Pour is absolutely beautiful. Wonderful copper color with a one finger tight head that dies down quickly and is already starting to lace on the sides of the glass. The surface of the beer is now left with a film of the tiniest bubbles. As it is warming the aromas are getting better and better. Pineapple and caramel are the main draws, and while not overpowering or remarkably complex, it is nice. Flavor is OK... caramel malt is the backbone, but there are lots of little side currents that please... the pineappley hops, the dark fruit and molasses like tang, the alcohol’s warmth. The one knock that I’d make is that it has a very thin mouthfeel for a BW. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
