Smells of spicy & floral hops (of course) The flavor is dominated by the spiciness of the Amarillo’s but there is also a great fruitiness going on here with some grapefruit bitterness, surprisingly though there is a sweetness in this beer that may be a little much for me.
Drinks easily, I had a Bud-only drinker share this bottle with me and he never once had a problem with the smoothness of the beer.
Overall it is nice, not sure I would buy a six pack, but I would throw it in a mix and match no doubt.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2008 Updated: Sep 29, 200812 oz bottle from Charleston’s (New Lenox, IL) poured into a tulip-esque glass. Pours a decent hazy amber, small white head with some nice flowery hop aromas. Initial is nice, if a bit bland from expected. I know it’s typical to expect and want a hop bomb or atleast a strong dose of both malt and hops, but this just isn’t quite up to par with my expectations. Taste is a little bitter up front with some grapefruit citrusy hoppiness, leaving the back end open to some more malt that clouds the hoppiness I really enjoy. A nice malt profile that puts the hops to shame. Decent, but not up to par. jeremytoni (1122), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2008 From a bottle poured a clear orangish color with a fair amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste. DrnkMcDermott (1861), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Hazy amber pour, foamy white head. Smell is rather light on hops. But it’s all there in the taste. Plenty of grapefruitty Amarillo right off the bat. Yet malts are nice and sweet, giving it kind of a Ruby Red Grapefruit juice vibe. So despite the usual heaviness of the style, this goes down kind of light for the summer. Even a touch of flowers. Body is fully tuned to deliver a full IPA experience. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a pale gold with a nice head, but it recedes quickly. The aroma is like an aged hoppy beer, so perhaps this has sat for a little long. But the flavour isn’t worse for wear. It’s very well balanced, with a good malt base and mellowed hops. I’ll re-rate once I have a fresh one.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 17, 2008 This is an excellent IPA out of Colorado. It has an excellent clear flavor of balanced hops without any bitterness. The aroma isn’t powerful and there is a light reddish amber color. This IPA is just about perfect for the palate. uhclem (192), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Pours a cloudy apricot with a long lasting eggshell head and good lacing. Nose is earthy, with pine and citrus undertones. Taste is bright and bold, with pine repeated, along with oranges. Mouthfeel is crisp and bitter. This is a keeper.
