Taste is also very hoppy with a light malt backing. Not overwhelmed by the hops. The balance was a little off as well. Not a bad IPA. This beer’s flavor is heavily centered on hops, and the aroma and taste are fantastic (if the citrusy, piney aromas and slightly astringent feel are what you’re looking for). I could easily drink a second (or third!) Mojo. BarliTruebeard (17), Greeley, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2008 This beer is higher in alcohol than most ales. At 6.8% ABV, it’s just enough to warrant respect but not high enough to leave a tell tale alcohol smell. The IPA has a nice tangy taste with a decent bitter finish. It’s a clean taste and is smooth sipping. The wheat blended into this beer makes this perfect for a nice warm day. It’s a nice contrast to the big IPA’s such as Dogfish Head 90-minute or Green Flash’s West Coast IPA. This is the type of IPA you could easily drink a few of. The overall experience isn’t really outstanding but then again I don’t think it was meant to be a knockout. This one is for enjoying and sharing with your friends on an easy going day. This beer gets a green light in my book and I’d certainly buy it again. kidmartinek (1001), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 20, 2008 Pours orange tinted pale amber. 2 inch, off white, dense head. Very strong, hop aroma. Very floral nose, with some citrus and some malt mixed in too. The beer is not cloudy and does not exhibit much carbonation. Flavor is very bitter like an ESB and only has a liitle malt in the finish to add some balance, but the scales are tipped towards Amarillo. tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours hazy brass orange with large off-white head. The aroma is pleasant orange, pine, apricot, and lemon hops, with a little bit of sweet maltiness. The flavor is fruity at first, in both the malt and hops aspects. Tangerine and apple mostly. Then comes an herbal feel that slightly resembles rooibos tea. The finish is moderately bitter. Bitterness is balanced by a grainy sweetness with a distant honeyish caramel note. A lingering fruity bitterness stays around in the aftertaste. Pretty refreshing. CheersMate1 (861), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2008 This beer has a nice crisp hop aroma. The beer is very aromatic. I feel that I am selling a pile of hop pellets rather than smelling the plugs or the whole leaf. A nice pine hop aroma. A very lager type color which is not good, but the aroma is nice. I applaud the aroma because as I said before it as if you are smelling the hops right in front of your nose. Very nice pine hop taste, and this is what I love about the beer. The beer just has a nice hop taste, but the beer does not have a nice IPA palate. Not a very creamy beer, but a very hoppy beer. It is nice and hoppy, but not nice and creamy. I think that they used malts that did not agree with this beer. Overall, the beer has an amazing hop profile, but the palate and color are lacking severely. This beer has a nice crisp hop aroma. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2008 Copper colored pour with a frothy and lasting eggshell white head. Aroma is sweet, with pine, grapefruit and some other light citrus notes. Taste is pine needles, floral hops and earthy malts towards the back end. No indication of the high abv. Pretty good. Reminds me of some west coast IPA’s, just a little more oomph.
