From a 22 oz bottle this poured a cloudy orange with a fat white head and fine lacing. Nose of citrus hops and the mouthfeel is medium with a slight slick feel on the back of the tongue. Favor is not complex, but is hops and malts in good balance. Nice bitter finish. Overall a very drinkable IPA that stays away from the excesses that many of this type show these days.

Nice IPA. Poured light amber with minimal head. Nice smooth hops and malt. Less crisp than most. Good hop profile. Small head , small lacings. Hops are well represented. Good session ale. Recommended.

Very nice. This is a great beer; hoppy and balanced. Retains a lot of flavor. Great for BBQ and pizza! I wish it were available in Iowa.

golden orange w/ a slight haze and a carbinated head. Hoppy w/ lots of grapefuit and general citrus acidity. A slighty maltiness make a nice roundness in flavor. Spicy carbination helps to keep things interesting.

Pours a golden color with a large white head. Has a very nice hop aroma and taste. Very good example of an IPA.

bottle poured a medium amber in color with vigorous carbination on the pour leaving a thick one finger head of white froth that coated the glass as it was drank. aroma has hops, citrus peel, background malt, and some metallic acidity. mouth feel is medium light with plenty of carbination and a slight thickness. flavor hits with hops as one would expect, good malted body, citrus peel, grapefruit, but again has that metallic flavor as in the smell. finishes on the dry side with fruit and acid. a good drinking ipa. with a light bitterness and a pleasant taste, only complaint is the strange metallic thing.

Golden amber color, decent head with good retention and lacings. Big grapefruit aroma and taste with some citrus and floral hops. A little bready/caramel malt in aroma. Faint pepperiness/herbalness upon tasting. Not much malt. Body is on the thin side. Similar to the Hazed and Confused. Alcohol content seems much lower like session strength.

12oz Bottle $6.99 6-Pack Binny’s Orland Mojo IPA is Boulder’s fourth beer in the Looking Glass series. Mojo glistens a polished pale copper with streams of carbonation rushing to the surface trying to keep the head alive. It’s doing a fine job too. There was two fingers worth of powder white head on the pour before falling to a respectable cap leaving some really nice lacing on it’s way down. The aroma is fruit juicy. Sweetened grapefruit and oranges make up the majority while a biscuity maltiness swirls around in the background. Although the citrus takes hold there’s more than enough maltiness to create a sense of balance. This beer hits the spot when you’re in the mood for a balanced flavorful IPA. This isn’t necessarily a hop bomb or a taste bud shredder (which are usually my preffered IPAs). No, this is more of a juicy citric tinged IPA with a biscuity maltiness. Good mouthfeel here. Medium bodied with a touch of airiness from the streaming carbonation. That carbonation also brings along a velvety mouthfeel that goes great with the style. A very approachable IPA. Has a good balance that keeps you driking the night through. May go down a little too easily. Mojo is another good brew from Boulder. Although I’m not to fond of their standard offerings the Looking Glass Series sports a good portfolio. 1/19/08
