Commercial Description:
Mo-Jo: 1: A magic spell or charm; magical power; 2. Herbaceous ale that summons hop attacks.

Pale in color but packed with flavor, MoJo reflects the perfect balance of hop bitterness and malt character. The unique Amarillo hop adds a slight citrus flavor to an ultra-crisp dry finish.

This is good stuff. This beer has better burps than most beers have taste. Nice malt backbone, a nice balance between sweetness and bitterness. It’s not stupid bitter like some of these IPAs; there is some obvious craftsmanship going on here. This is a very good IPA.

This is an ok, drinkable IPA. Clear golden orange. Big White bubbly head. Some malt and soap in the nose. A little grapefruit and pine on the tongue. Some malt in the middle. Thin yet bubbly mouthfeel that goes very flat as it warms.

10-21-07 bottle. Nice malty hops aroma. A bit soapy in the smell as well. Transparent orange color, with wonderful head and lacing. Decent taste and mouth feel. Surprised by this one. Slightly soapy finish with underplayed bitterness. I would have again but not my favorite IPA.

Pours a clear orange with a pillowing big white head. Aroma of citrus, butter, and hay. Crisp taste of grapefruit, orange and grass. Balance that with a honey-like sweetness. A lingering apricot finish. A nice alcohol warmth to boot. Has just the right amount of everything I like in an IPA. This is a well crafted IPA.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear yellowish amber colored beverage with a modest sized white frothy head that was mostly diminishing but left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was sharply hoppy with notes primarily of citrus in the form of grapefruit. There were also subtle earthy undertones. The body was full with average carbonation and a crisp dry texture. The flavor started out quite bitter and stayed that way throughout the long finish. There was also a nice alcohol warmth at the end.

Strange for an IPA. Doesn’t kick me in the junk like most, so I’d say on the extreme mild/weak of the IPA scale (in hopiness and bold aroma/flavor). Smooth though, but really lacking anything exceptional. Really waiting for something to grab me. Had a hint of honey in there, not sure what else though. Finish was o.k., again nothing exeptional.

This beer struck me as a pretty middle-of-the-road, crowd pleasing IPA. I would describe as true-to-style for an American IPA, and those looking for a pretty easy to drink IPA with a fair amount of hoppiness for the style and some nice but not over-the-top citrus notes will not be disappointed. This beer poured a dark yellow color into my pint glass with a whitish head that formed big soapy bubbles and left a small amount of lacing. Aroma was a light and balanced hop citrusness. Flavor was as I’ve described above, and was average but by no means disappointing. Mouthfeel was fairly light, but thin. There are a ton of IPAs out there, so it’s tough to make a unique one that still tastes good. This one is not unique, but does taste good (and it seems like I’ve had quite a few that don’t here lately). I bought this bottle at Murray’s Wine&Spirits "going out of business sale." Recommended.
