Commercial Description:
Mo-Jo: 1: A magic spell or charm; magical power; 2. Herbaceous ale that summons hop attacks.

Pale in color but packed with flavor, MoJo reflects the perfect balance of hop bitterness and malt character. The unique Amarillo hop adds a slight citrus flavor to an ultra-crisp dry finish.

Tasting at a beerfest [Disclaimer: This was tasted along with many, many other beers during a tasting at Julios. Some of the details are a little hazy]. Excellent beer for us hop heads. Will gladly drink more of these.

Clear Amber/gold with thin white head. Sweet hops smell, ripe fruit, pineapple, citrus, and pine. Mouthfeel full of carbonation. Light citrus bite on tongue to start, progresses to sweet grapefruit, and finally grassy bitterness on the finish. The first time I tried this, it seemed overpowering, now its great. Overbalanced on the hop side, but not undrinkable. Lives up to the name without being obscenely hoppy.

On cask at the “Drink for Charity” event at Rattle & Hum. Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Citrus, pine, and pineapple on the nose. Smells quite good. Sweet and a bit of caramel. Finishes with a bit of grapefruit bitterness.

Draught at Tir na nog, in downtown Raleigh. Pours light copper colored, with a medium offwhite head, and hazy body. Aroma is floral hops, somewhat earth aroma, caramel. Flavor is similar, hops are blended well, grapefruit, pine in finish, hoppy up front, but not overpowering.

This is a good hoppy beer, not to powerful on the hops and good body. Good color I didn’t taste to much of the citrus flavor. So for me that was a perfect amount of citrus.

Bottle. Solid IPA. Nice balance of hop flavor without too much obnoxious bitterness. I was drinking this beer in 90 degree weather so it has the refreshing quality that some IPAs lack. Very drinkable for a 7% ABV beer. Solid beer, but nothing particularly different from other microbrew IPAs.
