VitaminR (259), Colorado, USA Jun 5, 2008 Fruity resiny nose. Gold amber color, big frothy head with some lacing. Deep sweet toffee malt, huge bitterness, then spicy hop aromas. Tight carbonation, almost creamy medium body. Nice long complex finish with pepper at the tail end. Really solid IPA, seems a bit different (in a good way ) than many others?
Drnk_McDermott (1537), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 20, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Hazy amber pour, foamy white head. Smell is rather light on hops. But it’s all there in the taste. Plenty of grapefruitty Amarillo right off the bat. Yet malts are nice and sweet, giving it kind of a Ruby Red Grapefruit juice vibe. So despite the usual heaviness of the style, this goes down kind of light for the summer. Even a touch of flowers. Body is fully tuned to deliver a full IPA experience. sstackho (242), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2008 12oz bottle courtesy of my dad. But that means I don’t know how old it is. Pours a pale gold with a nice head, but it recedes quickly. The aroma is like an aged hoppy beer, so perhaps this has sat for a little long. But the flavour isn’t worse for wear. It’s very well balanced, with a good malt base and mellowed hops. I’ll re-rate once I have a fresh one.
Damico (50), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 This is an excellent IPA out of Colorado. It has an excellent clear flavor of balanced hops without any bitterness. The aroma isn’t powerful and there is a light reddish amber color. This IPA is just about perfect for the palate. uhclem (116), Loveland, Colorado, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours a cloudy apricot with a long lasting eggshell head and good lacing. Nose is earthy, with pine and citrus undertones. Taste is bright and bold, with pine repeated, along with oranges. Mouthfeel is crisp and bitter. This is a keeper. JoeinUccle (658), Brussels, Belgium Aug 17, 2008 Bright golden color, thin white head. Big citrus nose with more oranges and tangerines than grapefruit. Bright and zesty initial flavor, lightly sweet, diving into serious bitterness on lively carbonation, going dry. Lastingly bitter, zesty aftertaste.
