| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 10, 2008 The beer pours tiger’s-eye orange, fairly clear, and the healthy ivory head spawns cobwebby lace. Very, very faint coppery and cantaloupe scents at first; halfway through the glass a suggestion of tangerine emerges. Seriously, there is almost zero aroma of any kind. The beer redeems itself, however, upon passing the lips with exaggerated fruitiness- the signature Boulder Beer sweet/tart apple and white grape- a decent dose of herbal/resiny hops, the zing of lemon pith and quinine, and a malt foundation of dough and pretzel crust. Grapefruit? Where?? A spicy gingerbread finish transitions smoothly into a clean afterburn- ethanol sting plus timid but perstistent leafy bitterness- that compensates for the total lack of carbonation. Juicy mouthfeel. Overall this is a pretty enjoyable beer, and aside from the double-digit abv, not a bad IPA... but it falls far short of DIPA status in most respects. LtJudge (432), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2008 Pours a orangeish-amber color with white head. Aromas of citrus, grapefruit amd caramel malt. Great citrus grapefruit flavor with a generous malt backing. Body is rather "thick" as well. Great bitter finish. Not Bad! Thanks Brewblackhole! Beerlando (2349), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2008 Pours a crystal clear orange-amber body. A large, spongy, cream colored head settles slowly, leaving thick, clumpy, cobweb lacing on the glass. The nose is both massively malty and hoppy, with a huge, buttery toffee base and striking orange and grapefruit hops. Flavors include more of the same, with the two contrasting elements dueling one another for top billing. Toffee and buttered toast make a strong showing, only to be countered by sharp, bitter grapefruit and dry, grassy hops. A thick, substantial body gets a bit syrupy, leading to a heavy feeling in the stomach. Bitter grapefruit lingers on the tongue for ages. I’m a big fan of Amarillo hops, so this brew sits well with me, but I honestly think I’d give the slight edge to the regular Mojo for its supreme drinkability. Still, this is a very, very nice brew. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2008 pours hazy golden, slight off-white head, respectable lacing. mild aroma of grapefruit. flavor is caramel and grapefruit, not too complex. more creaminess than bitterness in the finish. if this has 10% abv, it is well-hidden. outside of getting loopy, i didn’t taste the alcohol.
