Commercial Description:
Only 120 precious barrels were brewed, adding more than half a ton of extra malt and twice the amount of Amarillo hops, so prepare your self for a full sensory explosion. The double dry-hop addition elevates the grapefruit-like aroma and flavor to an outrageous intensity, while the added malt raises the alcohol level from 7% all the way to 10% by volume.

22 oz bottle from a trade (sorry, don’t recall who). Hazy orange-amber color with a small off white head that leaves spotty lace. Citrus and floral aromas, juicy, fruity malts, grapefruit and piney notes. Sweet, summer fruits, floral and pine with grapefruit and an astringent finish which becomes more prominent as it warms. Smooth, medium body and gentle carbonation.

Pours gold with a good amount of white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and pine. Flavor was much the same but I felt this to be a little weak for a double IPA. Good beer, but not near the top of its class.

Bottle from Friar Tuck in Savoy, IL. Pours a hazy amber with a nice turbulent eggshell head. Good lacing. Aroma of lemony and grapefruit hops. Medium bodied with a very subtle stickiness. Initial flavor of pale malts and honey that transitions to a nice grapefruit and citrus bitterness mid palate. Hoppy and semi dry finish, with alcohol well hidden. Some moderate lingering resin on the palate. Reminds me of a second string Bells Hopslam. Not bad

Gold pour with smallish weak head. Light aroma of hops, at least for a double. Flavor is hoppy citrus with some malt on the end. It just didn’t have that big punch of hops that I was expecting.

22oz bottle: Pours a clear golden with a thin head. The aroma is a faint? hop note with more caramel and sweet notes coming through. The flavor has some citrus, toffee and a slight bite. The mouthfeel is medium to heavier but it fits. I remember liking this more the first time I had it in the spring and I definitely like regular Mojo better day to day but it might be loosing some of it’s hop character.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a small but lasting white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of Amarillo hops and hop resin. Taste is citrus and hop resin. Medium full mouthfeel with a good amount of bitterness and very well hidden alcohol. Not very complex but very good.

Clear gold. Small white head. Aroma of huge hops- grapefruit rind, subtle other citrus (oranges), pine trees, resin. Sweet pale malt in there, also. Same flavors. Not very complex, but very tasty. Like Mojo on steroids with less tangerine and more grapefruit. Medium/full body, balanced carbonation. Dangerously easy to drink for 10% abv. Very good brew.

Pale gold color with big white head. The taste was mainly citrus grapefruit. Nothing too special just a solid beer.
