Bottle. Moderate malt smells of roasted and dark bread, light resin and dough for the hops and yeast, with pepper, cooked corn, vegetable and hint of white wine with mulling spices. Head is large, off-white, creamy with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear red. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery/dry and has a lively carbonation. It finishes very dry. A good seasonal type beer, but could use a bit more complexity.

Found this one bottled at Lundeen’s in St. Charles, Illinois. Clear, medium amber pour with a long-lasting, thick white head. Nose is malty, some sweet caramel and milk chocolate, and piney hops. Sweetness carries into the flavor, but balanced with some nice hopiiness. Some spipe. Finish is strong and clean. Very nice!

A great beer from boulder. The aroma is full of caramel malts and a little hops. It pours reddish amber with a beautiful long lasting head that fades towards the end of the beer into nice lacing. Taste is caramel with good bitterness and an intersting spice mix I cannot figure out.

Bottle. Sweetish and surprisingly complex aroma of caramel, pine, oak, toffee cracker, cookie dough, milk chocolate and mocha, nuts, and a dash of peat. Somewhere between an amber and a nut-brown. Copper-mahogany pour, still translucent, with a somewhat rocky, yellow-tinged beige head. Crisp nutty flavor which can’t really decide between sweetness and dryness, even till the end. Bitterness is faint, and all the lovely earthy and dark herbal tones expected from the aroma have seemingly receded into an Amber slosh. Medium body and smooth enough, with muddy malt and a somewhat bland spiciness toward the back. The sparkling Yoohoo notes toward the finish are indeed nice, but the range of hops cancel each other out, with just a smidgen of Nugget seeping through. Very interesting but ultimately confused.

Pours a hazy orange amber color with thin white head. Aroma of bourbon and light fruit. Pretty smooth with a lot of apple and bourbon flavor. Tasted kind of like a mix of whiskey and apple cider but in a good way.

Bottle. Pours a copper brown color with red highlights. Pillowy, comfy-looking fluffy white head. Some nice lacing, too. Aroma has some fruity esters, dry malt, plum, peach, and some slight chocolate, too. Nothing stands out too well overall though. Spicy touch to the flavor, with a fairly malt-driven body. Caramel, and some zest flavors come out, too. A full-bodied beer, with a nice warming touch. Kind of a bland finish, though. You’ll try it once and that’ll probably be it.
