Pours coppery amber with small ecru foam. Aroma is reminicent of a microbrewery with good malt and hop scents swirling around. Hops dominate the flavor. Grainy maltiness, but suprisingly little spice. There is mystery spice that keeps things complex and interesting - maybe a hint of cinnamon? The body is unremarkable, but good hoppy aftertaste. This is classic Front Range brewpub fare -in a bottle - and that’s not a bad thing.

Pours a caramel red with thin mostly white head. Settles down quickly to thin bubbly layer on top with some decent lacing. Sweet initial aroma with some roasty cinnamon notes. Not overly aromatice, but pleasant. Flavors of sweet malt, biscuit, burnt toast, and a touch of bubblegum as well as a nice balancing hop element. Some more floral hop notes linger on the aftertaste. Very drinkable, but not terribly exciting.

bottle. pours red-brown with fluffy white head. big malty, full bodied palate backed by a nice bitter hop. i don’t get much in the spice department but there are some earthy notes. a light citrus from the hops too. i love the creamy mouth feel. this would probably be a highly hopped beer if not for the huge does of caramel malt. mmm. this ones a winner in my book.

12oz bottle, no date. Clear reddish brown with a 1/2 finger beige head, fair retention. Aroma of some caramel and toasted malts, honey, light nutmeg, and spicy and citrus hops. Flavor again had the malts dominating with a little bit of an earthy character. The hops are much more in the background as spicy piney notes finish up the beer with bitterness peaking at a 2-3. Light to moderate carbonation with a medium body. An OK beer.

bottle poured a slightly red amber in color with good steady medium carbonation and a one finger head of frothy white foam. aroma has malt, spiced hops, some dark fruit, back round citrus peel, and light yeast. mouth feel is medium with some thickness and good carbonation present. flavors are so well integrated with a malt and hops balance, good spice from both the hops and perhaps yeast, light sweetness to balance, and light citrus with pine from the hops. definitely something in here that adds to the spice but not sure exactly what it is perhaps nutmeg and cinnamon? i guess it is what makes this beer technically a spice/herb/vegetable brew. someone tell me what it is please. i wanna know what the secret ingredients are, and i hate secrets.

Pours copper with a nice fluffy tan head that clings well to the sides of the glass on the way down. Aroma is caramel malts, some roasted nuts, some grapefruit and a touch of cherry. Flavor is very malty at first much caramel, roasted malts, and a touch of brown sugar, give way to a somewhat hoppy finish with flavors of pine, grapefruit and spices. Palate is thick and sticky. This is very barley wine-like but a little more drinkable. One of the better ones I’ve tried from this brewer. Pretty tasty..

ruby red, with nice 2 finger off white head. sweet malt aroma with a nice underlyning of spice; it must be the "top secret brewmasters spice." smells very good, but it wasn’t begging me to drink it, if that makes sense. medium bodied with a slight syrup feeling going down, which i didn’t much care for. sweet malt flavor, i get a nutty character without being able to pinpoint which, although it’s very subtle. i’m not really tasting, or smelling much of the hops. i guess it’s a good balance then? prefer out of the bottle, but still not a bad brew.

Gorgeous, luminous ruby-amber melanoidin malt colored body with a smooth 1/2 inch cream head. Nice whiff of hop and sweetness of candi malt and spiced gum drops. Easy candi-malted flavor and modest presence of Cascade hops.
