| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 11, 2007 Poured a deep red with a lacy head. Aroma of hops, sweetness, and some roastiness. A nice taste that hits some hops and spices with enough malt to balance it a little. BREWMUSKCLES (1083), New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2007 barely full bodied (possibly not). flavors of caramel, chestnut, oak and some mix of spice. goes well down in to the stomach (isn’t that what we want in a wnter brew?).nice and nutty, refreshing with a tartish (OAK AGAIN) malt finish that lingers just a bit. not bad at all. A BIT INVENTIVE. could be a good scotch ale. Hammster (187), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Bottle. Poured an oaky, crimson-red with an average butternut brown head. Nice spicy aroma with strong malt notes of caramel, dough, and brown sugar. Taste is roasted chestnut and caramel. Very sweet and pleasant. This is one of ten beers that actually has the appropriate amount of smoke flavor so it doesn’t dominate the brew. Aftertaste is only a little unpleasant. This is decent winter beer, drinkable but not exceptional by any means. RSRIZZO (1368), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2007 Had this beer on 12/5/2003. Aroma is a smoky, light roasted scent. Color is a deep amber with light carbonation and a thick head. taste roasted and hoppy. Starting with a light medium body that goes down with a malty feel. Finish is a mild roasted flavor backed by a nice hop flavor and fair bitterness. mhot55 (99), USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 25, 2007 @ Chuck’s Aged Ales Tasting, This is a weird one, I’m not sure who thought to age it, but it ages into a malty beer, with no real evidence of the mass amounts of spices they added, this one had about 8 months on it. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Pours a a deep ruby amber with a medium foamy/bubbly off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of caramel, nuts, some citrus and a mix of spices (ginger, cinnamon, a touch of All-Spices...just guesses). Nice malty aroma. Flavor was a mix of caramel, nuts, molasses, toffee, nice sweet malt mix, some hop bitterness to add a little something. Also getting some toastiness, a spice mix that is hard to pinpoint but is nice. I like how this beer came together.
