Like the first run of the day, this ale is deep and clean, crisp and drinkable, perfectly blended for a smooth ride...through the Looking Glass. Grains: British Dark Caramel Malt, U.S. 2-row Barley. Hops: Nugget, Willamette, Cascade and Top-Secret Brewmaster's Spice.

Pours a a deep ruby amber with a medium foamy/bubbly off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of caramel, nuts, some citrus and a mix of spices (ginger, cinnamon, a touch of All-Spices...just guesses). Nice malty aroma. Flavor was a mix of caramel, nuts, molasses, toffee, nice sweet malt mix, some hop bitterness to add a little something. Also getting some toastiness, a spice mix that is hard to pinpoint but is nice. I like how this beer came together.

A good winter beer with just the right amount of hops. A hoppy aroma, makes this beer the Hazed of the winter season. The hop combination is very good, producing a taste that is very flavorful. The caramel malts make this the dark seasonal brew and bring a full bodyto the table.

Dark amber color with small head. The aroma was of rich medium roasted malt and various spices. The taste was the same with semi sweet roasted finish.

Bottle from John’s Market. Darker malt aromas packed by some resiny hop. Reddish amber color with a beige head that froths and laces. At least medium bodied. Lightly carbonated. Turns creamy as the foam departs. It has Xmas spice flavors, malty sweetness, some background bitter. The bitter stays to the finish, but I can’t characterize it, as the malt and spice stay around. It is really good, and not so sticky as many winter ales.

Rated 1/25/07: Tasty, satisfying little brew we got here. Very malty and filling with a good dash of flavorful hops and some ever so subtle spiciness. Aroma is balanced and pleasant. Nice chestnut pour thick off white head and lots of lacing covering the glass. Very creamy and satisfying. Thick malts, slightly sweet with a great hop taste. A pinch of grapefruit and citrus with a dash of pine and a touch of mixed spices. This is a clever ale, nicely crafted.

A Pretty good beer, but not quite on par with Boulder’s real good ones (Hazed & Infused and Mojo). Tasy and a little taste of fruit. I’d buy it again, but its not one of my top beers.

Deep red color with no head at all. Great citrus nose with tons of maple syrup malt flavors. Nose is like pure malt extract. Body is malt with some light spice and hops
