[Bottle] A dark reddish color with a nice creamy head. Liked how it smelled in the glass giving off some wonderful aromas. Good Balance I would drink this beer again. I realley liked the spicy flavors this beer was giving off also.

(bottle) reddish copper with tan head. Floral hops aroma. flavor is malt predominately with enough hops to notice. A bit of a cabbage flavor (perhaps my bottle was starting to go off).

Leon Pub, Tallahassee, Fl. - 12 oz bottle. Pours a murky dark orange with a slightly thickish, foamy, off-white head that sticks around a while. Pleasant, fresh aroma that is both floral and fruity with hints of overripe canteloupe melons and a hint of spice. Flavor is full- bodied with an assertive citrusy- but not grapfruity - front end and some Christmas spices and a touch of sweet pancake maple syrup in the back end. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Pleasantly surprised. Glad to see this brewer making headway into the hinterlands of north Florida.

Draught at Old Chicago in Colorado Springs. Pours amber to mahagony wiht a medium sized foamy tan head and spotty lacing. Fruity, citrus (orange) hop and caramel malt aroma with yeast notes. Hoppy flavor, moderate acidity and bitterness with a caramel malt body. Medium bodied, slightly fizzy palate.

A wee heavy offering with its rich, ruby colour and caramel malt. The malt comes through fine in the flavour, but for an offering touted as ’assertively hopped" I don’t taste it. The hop flavour melts into the malt. I should say it is hopped in balance to the brew so as not to be sweet, or cloying on the tastebuds. I think it a fine offering for a seasonal winter ale, clean, filling, rich and tasty!

Bottle. Hoppy citrus aroma. Deep clear brown in color. Average white head. This one has me intrigued as to the taste. It’s really a nice well balanced winter brew. I like it pretty well. One of the better beers in the Boulder line. A touch under Mojo IPA. Boulder does a good job with the hoppy beers. Their malty beers are not so great though. Since this one is more hoppy, I appreciate the effort.

Pour is a red-orange with a white head. Aroma is quite hoppy and floral. Flavor is raisons and other dark fruits. The hops in the aroma disappear in the flavor. Still kinda tasty even though this is a bit watery in the end. More of an ESB than anything.

Bottle (12oz). Poured slightly hazy copper-orange with an average foamy off-white head. MIld aroma of pungent spice, light caramel/cocoa roast malt, very mild hops - really opened up after it sat for a bit - slightly vegetal, but hey, it’s a "spice/herb/vegetable." Flavour is really nice - solid juicy slightly sweet caramel roast malt, subtle and restrained medley of US and UK hops backing it, and qutie a lot of fall-like spices, quite tasty. Mouthfeel spicy, slightly astringent and dry, quite lively - overall this is a solid beer, wish I’d had it back in the fall.
