| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 28, 2009 Poured on tap at Flossmoor Station (Flossmoor, Il) as the guest stout. Pours an extremely dark black pour, opaque, with decent brownish cocoa head in the snifter glass I’ve become very accustomed to as a former and 5 year employee of Flossmoor Station. Aromas are initially chocolatey, light dark roasty malts, with a touch of oak, and very vague bourbon notes. Initial is a little thin, but flavors come through: smoother roasted malt, chocolatey goodness, light oak, and light booziness with a touch of harshness and roast on the backend. A touch of bourbon lingers in the body with the oak. small flavors in a touch of a thin body. A little coffee? This is decent, but more on a "well made beer, but not overally special" kind of jaunt. I’d drink this again, but would not seek it out. Lacks complexity Butters (1652), Virginia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Sampled with Barrios and Butters. Very dark in color. DARK brown almost black body. On nose picked up roasted walnuts aromas with bits of cola. Not as think on the palate as I would have expected for a stout. Bitter cacoa and coffee. Not bad. Wouldn’t buy on my own though.
