| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 23, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with a foamy tan head that dissipated rather quickly. There is a pleasant chocolate aroma and a carbonated roasted malt flavor with cocoa undertones. This is a tasty stout, although the flavor is slightly thin. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 20, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Roasted bitterness and chocolate sweetness merge into coffee bean notes in this slender and drinkable Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the brown-sleeved black.
-The barrel presence is subtle, which is appreciated.
-The finishing bitterness is quite roasty, but also hoppy and peppery.
-I did not find it plump enough for my tastes in the style.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Pretty sessionable for its ABV. It has a handsome pour, a deep, clear reddish mahogany with a tall, rocky beige head, leaving chunks of "lace" in its wake. The aroma has roasted malt, cocoa, nuts, and oak to it. A bit thin, mayhaps, but that’s pretty much what the flavor delivers as well. Not bad.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Bottle. This beer pours a beautiful deep reddish brown with a huge tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor begins creamy, but a sharp raostiness is lingering behind the initial wave of flavor. There is a sense of chocolate and coffee, but most stouts seem to fall in line with that. While the overall sensation is a little thin, it is a very solid beer. However, considering that it was part of a special series, I wish they would have bumped it up to 9 or 10% and made it an Oak-aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout. jsh12bama (337), Alabama, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Pours dark brown with off white head. Big roasted malt aroma with hint of chocolate and coffee. Taste is mostly coffee. Thin mouthfeel. Just OK. bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Bomber. Pours clear cola brown with a creamy tan head. Pine-tinged coffee/chocolate nose. Medium-to-light body, moderate carbonation. Mostly coffee in the taste. Dry pine and wood finish that seems a little thin. There’s oatmeal in here? uhclem (191), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2008 22oz bomber. Pours a dark brown (and I always thought deep space was black) with a tan head that rapidly dissipates with good lacing. Nose brings instances of coffee, caramel, toffee and malt. Taste is wonderful in its complexity. The aforementioned aromas are readily present, along with hops and oak. Mouthfeel is good but the body is somewhat light. Aftertaste is slightly metallic. jgb9348 (2499), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice dense tan head that seems to fade fast. Aroma of fresh hops out of the bottle but definitely showing more oatmeal and roasted malt in the glass. A bunch of caramel and sugars also grace the aroma. Medium-bodied; Nice complex taste with hops again showing remarkably first then oak, vanilla, figs and oatmeal. Aftertaste shows the caramel and sweetness but the alcohol aftertones and smoke goes nicely. Overall, a nice beer and great to try without being horribly overpowering! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 07-April-2008.
