| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours nearly opaque black with a 2+ cm rolling head that is tan and bubbly. Aroma is of smoke, roasted malts and bitter chocolate (chocolate dominates when it warms up a bit). Flavors are the same. Aftertaste is dominated by the smoke and bitter chocolate, with both flavors lingering for a while. Nearly no lacing, very light carbonation, medium body, hidden alcohol. Drinkable more for the smokiness than anything else, low etoh for the style. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA

Hugely roast-heavy nose, with an astringent, roast-filled, charred wood and dusty, dry malt flavor. Even has some charred milk and dry, coarse butter and wood flavors, and it finishing not much different. A difficult beer to like. mreusch (743), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Bomber, courtesy of my loving wife who bought this for me after a very long, painful weekend of work - thank you and love you too, Boo! Pours a cola brown with a towering creamy off-white head, great lacing. Aroma is dominated by roasted malts, chocolate, and some hints of woody oak. Flavor is a bit thin on the outset, but seems to fill in some on the middle and finish, with more roasty malts, coffee, chocolate and some slight woodiness. Agree with earlier comments likening this more to a porter than a stout, but pleasant and enjoyable whatever you call it... BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Pours a deep brown color with a fluffy tan head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate and coffee, and a bit of oak. Interesting flavor profile, starts out smooth and chocolaty, moving into a middle that contained a roasty oak flavor, which mellows to a slight fruit hint upon the finish. Seems a bit thin in the beginning, but then it begins filling out. Alright, but nothing to get to pumped up about. Headbanger (1599), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2008 22oz bomber(courtesy of RSRIZZO)-A pitch black body with a nice small tight tan head which emits an aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, cherry, and a faint of oak. Taste of this full bodied brew is of chocolate, coffee, with a nice oaky finish. A little light for a stout but still very tasty. Chapel (330), Levittown, New York, USA

Poured dark black with a dark brown head as if to imitate an imperial stout (the bottle lists it as an ’empirical stout’). Aroma and flavor strongly of chocolate and some thick cherry. Not has heavy as I would have expected from looking at it. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

Aroma – Huge Black malt and lots of hops in the nose.
Appearance – Dark Black, very thin head.
Flavor – One of the best impy stouts I have ever had. The flavors was thick this was awesome.
Palate – Great thick Mouthfeel, good texture with a hoppy dry finish.
Overall – Excellent Impy Stout this beer rocks . I loved the flavors deep chocolate and cofee flavors. This was a deep flavored beer for those who understand beers. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
