williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Oct 17, 2009 Color is a clear and bright orange. Lots of carbonation. Unstable puffy head. Clear but doesn’t appear watery.
Nice smell of a slightly pale pub ale. Sweet bready malt with a hint of paleness. Mild, slightly sweet hop. Very mild and balanced.
Taste is an understated pale malt with pleasant mild hops. Quite good. Not bitter at all. The pale malt is a tad chlorine-ish, but also flowery. Pretty good metallic aftertaste.
It’s thicker than expected. Dry on the tongue. Dances a bit. Champagne feel to some degree. Overall it’s a nicely balanced pale ale. Not too bitter, not too pale. Pretty darn good. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 8, 2009 A golden ale with a thin creamy off white head. A light sweet malt with cinnamon notes. In mouth, a raspy sweet nutty malt, with faint British hops, a bit cloying. At Boulder Beer Tap House, DEN, August 28 2009. msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2009 12oz bottle from Old Chicago. Pours clear golden with small white head. Aroma is malt and caramel. Flavor is pale malts and caramel. Kind of boring. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear dark gold with a half finger tan head that leaves spotty lacing. The nose is sweet malt and earthy hops. The taste is caramel, fruit and light hops in the finish. Medium mouthfeel. Has the strange taste in the background that most organic beers I’ve had have had, yet it’s not organic so not sure what’s up with that. An ok beer in a pinch. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2009 The color of weak tea with no head despite a vigorous pour. An aroma of very sweet fruit and caramel. Flavor is also sweet fruit with caramel and light spices. A bit of wood and malt, too. It is a decent representation of the style but not a great beer. ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA Aug 8, 2009 Pours a clear amber with a white head. Aroma of thick malt, corn, honey. Taste is similar with some malts present. Kind of thinner than I was expecting. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Aug 8, 2009 Pours a fading beige head with a pale amber body. Aromas of malt, mellow hops, and a hint of cabbage. Flavor is bread, citrus hops, almost tart. jport4087 (73), Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2009 From bottle. Nice color for it’s style with a nice head. Overall, an average and ok beer.
