| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 24, 2007 12oz bottle. Very average brew. Pours a clear light amber color with small white head. Very malty. Not to good of a beer but better than a lot of the crap out there. BeerBelcher (943), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 18, 2007 The appearance of this beer was very attractive; a nice copper color with pretty good head formation. Aroma was a metallic-coppery smell balanced with just a bit of hops - which really didn’t get me excited. Flavor had some diacetyl and maltiness, but not else and I was not a fan. I believe that diacetyl (buttery-ness) does not really belong in this style (IPA). Mouthfeel was pretty full, due in large part to the diacetyl. I would not recommend this beer.
I picked up this bottle at Liquor Mart, in Boulder, CO during my visit to attend the 2007 GABF. hayduke (1664), Eureka, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2007 From a 12 oz bottle purchased at the State Liquor Store in Salt Lake City, UT this poured a clear gold with fat white head and good lacing. Nose of fruit light malts, and very mild hops. Mouthfeel smooth and clean . Flavor good for a pale ale. Nothing fancy but very easy to drink. CasperQuaffer (142), Casper, Wyoming, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 18, 2007 Smoky/meaty aroma. Small head, good light ice tea color. Well balanced, candy like malt, lemonade hops. The palate is a bit watery but short lived bitter aftertaste. Decent carbonation keeps the palate lively. Good beer, not great. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2007 Updated: Sep 15, 2007This seems a bit on the yeasty side with a smack of bready flavors dipped in a malt flavored cotton candy which quickly dissipates into a wet strand that lacks the initial character who shortly appeared for a millisecond.
Rerate 9-15-07: this actually grew on me a bit as its sweet malty character is starting to come out in the finish. I need to start looking at the malt character before I look at hops. This one seems to have berries underneath licorice flavors. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Pours a clear golden amber with a decent sized head. Nose is like an extremely mild bing cherry, though overall there isn’t much to it. Flavor is totally weak. Bordering on watered down with very little presence of hops or anything remotely interesting or appealing. I can’t say it is the worst I have ever had, but it just doesn’t move me at all. For this style there are so many much better examples to try. Feel is pretty good with a nice carbonation on it, but the drinkability stays low because it is just not very moving. I’ve had it and I’m on to something different (never to return most likely). ksigty (107), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
