Poured a clear amber-gold with a large creamy off-white head - very nice lacing. Aroma of sour dish water (would sour DITCH water sound better, tupalev? Hmm? Hmmmmm???), cabbage, sour wine, a bit of pee, dirt, root vegetables and cedar. All that going on and still only 3/10. Flavour very mellow - well, boring, really, but at least I didn’t *taste* the pee - a malt/hop blend, a smooth woody, peaty, loamy taste which would make a terrific islay single malt, but not really appropriate for a freakin’ beer. No aftertaste to report, minerally and oilly mouthfeel - I hated the aroma but actually kind of enjoyed the drinking, in a perverse sort of way. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Odd muted hops, wilted citrus. Not much malt, watery, poor citrusy hops flavour. Thin. Not that different from the amber, but less good as well. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

Sold this stuff back in the 80’s and wonder if this wasn’t dug up from a landfill. There were times when it was fresh that it was semi-respectable. But maybe there was abrewer that took control and tweaked the recipe. Thin and vacant. KAggie97 (2481), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA

Rotten hops and aging malt made this one a chore to finish. Earlier Rating: 9/12/2004 Total Score: 3.1 Not bad, but more like a fruity amber than a pale ale. Had this one at the bar in the DoubleTree Hotel in Denver. Perhaps it tasted better because I was in Denver, but what the heck. I’d try it again... pjk33 (384), Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 31, 2005 Bottle from Kaggie97, Thanks! Pours a light amber / copper color with no head to speak of and only a slight aroma of malt - no hops to speak of. This one tastes more like an English Ale or maybe a Scottish Ale than an American Pale... Not bad stuff, but not really fitting the style as far as I’m concerned. Malty and a little sweet with a bit of a roasted honey flavor. Decent stuff, but nothing to go nuts about. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA

Has a floral aroma to it. Short taste to it which had flavors of malt and citrusy. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 19, 2005 Bottle: Hazy orange with a thin white head, bready aroma, stale rich taste, starts and ends lightly sweet. Maybe this beer is old, however since the brewer doesn’t care to label the bottle, I don’t care.
