| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2005 pretty similar to their amber that i just had. perhaps i like the amber better, but of course this is a different style and with a style there’s its own time and place ah that’s what i say! anyway... similar as the amber. however, there are differences in flavor, but it’s subtle. this also has a chewier palate, with minerals. i think english pale ale’s are to have a harder water. i don’t care too much for it, though, and in any case, it’s not suppose to stink, and this doesn’t. compared to the amber, the only outstanding difference seems to be the aforementioned, and there seems to be less hop presence here, also. good, though. (hey, it’s advertised as subtle and just look at the damn labels... there’s not suppose to be "A LOT" of flavor!) jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2005 This bottle poured a small rocky white head that disipated quickly to a very small, thin head leaving almost no lacing on the glass. The beer itself was a crystal-clear light amber. From a distance, the aroma was of bubble gum but up closer that turned to sweet malt and banana with some aromatic hops coming through. The flavor is sweet and fruity at first with the ripe banana coming through again. The middle gave hint of the bittering hops used. The finish however was mainly of bittering hops but was too quickly gone. rudolf (1775), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Smells like a box of lipton tea w. some rich malt. Very sweet and herbal flavor - hints of citrus, honey. Why has every pale ale I’ve had recently been herbal? hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2005 Poured a medium, see through, amber color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas and tastes of earth, caramel and citrus (grapefruit in the aroma turning to orange in the taste). Lighlty sweet. BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 31, 2005 Nothing much to speak of. A typical thin, vinegary American pale ale. But quite acceptable if you find it on sale. ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 29, 2005 Creamier than expected. Some sweetness, not too dry, and finishes with cleaner notes than I’d expect. One of the tastier pales I’ve tried: they didn’t try to wow me with the bittering hops. Wells done.
