Head is a finger thick and tan. The nose is weird, old, English smelling, sweet, smells like a brown ale, musty. The flavor is papery, shows some peanut shell, tastes like an old oxidized brown ale, mild sweetness. Palate is smooth DJMonarch (6878), Northwich, Cheshire, England

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 30, 2009 I was surprised the pizza place I went to yesterday had a decent selection of taps including this. Dark black with brown edges and a short white head. Smelled slightly roasty. The taste was a nice mix of roast and malt. Mouthfeel was great and I could have drank a couple more but I had things to do.
